Participants learn relevant and functional skills related to safely navigating the community more independently. Regular outings in the community are a major component of this program to allow participants to practice skills in real settings.
Skills taught can include:
- Navigating and using the public transportation system (TTC)
- Understanding safety in the community
- Managing time and money
- Planning outings
- Strategies to use when encountering an emergency in the community
